Every October we spend a little more time talking about search, which is where SEOctober came from in the first place. It started as a pretty straightforward idea: help businesses understand what SEO actually does, why it matters, and how being easier to find can translate into more opportunities.
The problem is that “being found” isn’t as straightforward as it used to be.
A customer might still begin with Google, and plenty do. But another person may go straight to Maps and start comparing businesses there. Someone else sees a Local Services Ad before they ever reach the organic results. A prospective customer may recognize a company because they saw it while watching streaming television, then search for the name a week later. Increasingly, people are also using AI tools to research services, compare options, and figure out which businesses are worth looking at more closely.
That’s a long way from the old idea that a company just needed a website and a decent position in Google.
So this year, SEOctober is built around a bigger question:
Can people actually find your business wherever they happen to start looking?
To go with the campaign, we’re offering a SEOctober Local SEO Power Pack that combines Local SEO, Local Services Ads, and Connected TV Ads. Purchased separately, those services normally total $1,600 per month.
During October, the complete package is $1,500 per month.
There’s a little savings built in, but that isn’t really why we put these three things together. The point is to give a local business more than one way to be discovered.
Because being online and being visible are not the same thing.
I’m obviously not going to argue against having a good website. We build them for a living, and I remain fairly attached to the concept.
But a beautiful website sitting quietly on the Internet is not much of a marketing strategy.
People have to find it.
That’s where the Local SEO portion of the package comes in. At $600 per month on its own, it focuses on strengthening the website’s authority, speed, and search performance while keeping the work centered on the local market the business actually wants to reach.
That means the site needs to clearly explain what the company does, which services it offers, and where it operates. Search engines need to be able to crawl it, understand the content, and connect the right pages with the right searches.
None of that has become less important simply because AI showed up.
In fact, the basic work may matter even more now. Search engines and AI platforms both have to make sense of what a business actually does. If the website is vague, the service pages are thin, or the content could describe practically any company in the industry, there isn’t much for either one to work with.
The technology changes.
The need to clearly explain the business does not.
The Local SEO service also includes Google Business Profile Management, which makes sense because local visibility doesn’t stop at the website.
For many customers, the Google Business Profile may be the first meaningful interaction they have with the company.
They can see reviews, hours, photographs, services, directions, the phone number, and other information before ever clicking through to the site. In some cases, they can make most of the decision right there.
That means the profile needs attention.
A profile that was completed three years ago and then abandoned doesn’t somehow stay current out of professional pride. Hours change. Services change. Photos get old. Reviews come in. Google changes features because apparently everyone involved needed another hobby.
Someone needs to keep it accurate and useful.
There’s also a larger consistency issue. If the website says one thing and Google says something else, somebody has to decide which one is right. That somebody might be the customer. It might be Google. Increasingly, it might be an AI system trying to gather information about the business.
None of those are situations where I’d like to introduce unnecessary confusion.
The goal is to strengthen organic visibility while also improving the business’s presence in Maps, local results, and the local pack. More visibility should mean more opportunities for calls, directions, website visits, and ultimately new business.
SEO is valuable because it builds visibility over time. Good organic placement can keep sending people to a business long after the original work was done.
But sometimes the customer doesn’t need six months of education.
Sometimes the air conditioner is broken.
Or the roof is leaking.
Or they need an attorney.
Or whatever problem your business solves has become very immediate and very inconvenient.
That’s where Local Services Ads can be useful for eligible businesses.
These ads can place a company at the very top of relevant Google searches, above traditional paid ads and organic listings. They also use a pay-per-lead model rather than the usual pay-per-click approach.
That distinction matters.
Someone seeing one of these ads is not being interrupted while reading about something completely unrelated. They’re already searching for the service.
They’ve raised their hand.
I’ve always liked marketing where the potential customer has done some of the qualifying for us.
Our Local Services Ads management normally runs $400 per month, and it’s included in the SEOctober package because it gives the business another way to appear at the exact moment someone is looking for help.
Local SEO works on the long game.
Local Services Ads can put the business in front of somebody who needs the service today.
Those two ideas work pretty well together.
Connected TV is the part of this package that may seem a little strange at first because it isn’t search marketing.
That’s deliberate.
Search works extremely well once somebody has decided they need something. Connected TV gives us a chance to build recognition before that happens.
People spend a lot of time watching streaming content through platforms and devices such as Hulu, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and others. That creates an opportunity for a local business to reach a targeted audience while they’re doing something completely different from searching Google.
Maybe the viewer doesn’t need your service tonight.
That’s fine.
Two months later, something changes. Now they do.
They search Google, see the company name, and recognize it.
Recognition is useful.
This is one of those areas where marketing attribution gets messy because the final click rarely tells the whole story. A person may see a streaming ad, forget about it, encounter the business again in Maps, read some reviews, visit the website, leave, come back, and eventually call after seeing a Local Services Ad.
Which thing worked?
Probably several of them.
Real customers have never been especially considerate about staying inside the neat funnels we build for them.
Our Connected TV Ads management normally runs $600 per month, and it gives us a way to build brand awareness in the local market before some of those searches ever happen.
Search captures demand.
Connected TV can help create familiarity before the demand becomes urgent.
We also have to account for the fact that search itself is changing.
People are asking AI platforms questions they might once have typed directly into Google. They’re using them to research services, understand options, compare approaches, and sometimes identify businesses worth considering.
That doesn’t mean traditional search has become irrelevant. It means discovery has another layer.
And much of what helps with AI discovery is remarkably familiar.
Clear service information helps.
Accurate business details help.
Useful content helps.
A strong local presence helps.
Consistency helps.
Authority helps.
In other words, after all the excitement surrounding artificial intelligence, we have somehow arrived back at the radical idea that businesses should clearly explain what they do.
Technology can be very humbling that way.
The three parts of this year’s SEOctober offer are doing different jobs.
Local SEO strengthens the website, organic visibility, Google Business Profile, Maps presence, and local pack visibility.
Local Services Ads give the business another opportunity to appear when someone is actively searching and ready to make contact.
Connected TV helps build awareness and recognition before that search ever happens.
None of them replaces the others.
That’s the point.
A business doesn’t need to be everywhere simply for the sake of saying it’s everywhere. That’s how marketing budgets disappear.
It does need to be visible in the places that matter to its customers.
And more importantly, those different channels should support each other rather than operating like three strangers who happen to receive checks from the same company every month.
For October, Strottner Designs is offering the Local SEO Power Pack for $1,500 per month.
The package includes:
Local SEO (a new service package), normally $600 per month
Local Services Ads Management, normally $400 per month
Connected TV Ads Management, normally $600 per month
Purchased separately, those services normally total $1,600 per month.
The SEOctober promotional price is $1,500 per month.
The savings are nice, but the bigger reason for the package is that we get to work on several parts of local visibility at the same time rather than asking one marketing channel to do everything.
Think about the question from the customer’s side.
Imagine someone who has never heard of your company.
They don’t know your name, so they can’t search for it.
They only know what they need.
When they start looking, do you show up?
If they check Maps, are you there?
Does the Google Business Profile look active and credible?
If they see a Local Services Ad, does the company make sense when they investigate it?
Have they possibly encountered the name somewhere before?
And if they use an AI platform to research the service, is there enough clear information online for the business to be understood?
That’s what visibility looks like now.
It’s more complicated than it used to be, but the goal is still wonderfully simple.
We want the right people to find the business.
That’s what we’ll be talking about throughout SEOctober this year, and we’ll keep coming back to this post as we dig further into the different pieces.
If your business needs stronger local visibility this fall, talk to us about the SEOctober Local SEO Power Pack. We’ll look at where you’re showing up now, where the gaps are, and whether this combination makes sense for what you’re trying to accomplish.
The SEOctober promotional price is $1,500 per month.
Because having a website is useful.
Having one that prospective customers can actually find is considerably more useful.
If your business is relying on one source of visibility, or you’re simply not sure where customers are finding you now, SEOctober is a good time to take a closer look.
Our Local SEO Power Pack combines Local SEO, Google Business Profile Management, Local Services Ads, and Connected TV advertising into one coordinated strategy designed to put your business in front of more local customers.
The promotional price is $1,500 per month during October.

The SEOctober package includes Local SEO, Local Services Ads Management, and Connected TV Ads Management. The Local SEO portion also includes Google Business Profile Management, so the package is designed to improve visibility across the website, local search results, Maps, paid local search, and streaming TV.
The promotional price is $1,500 per month during October. Purchased separately, the three included services normally total $1,600 per month.
The Local SEO service is focused on improving local search visibility and includes Google Business Profile Management. The goal is to strengthen the website’s local relevance, improve visibility in Maps and local results, and help more nearby customers find the business.
Local Services Ads are Google ads that can appear prominently for certain local service searches. They’re designed to generate leads from people who are already looking for a specific service, using a pay-per-lead model rather than the traditional pay-per-click approach.
Connected TV helps with the part of the customer journey that happens before someone searches. It gives local businesses a way to build recognition through streaming platforms such as Hulu, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV, so the company may already feel familiar when the customer later sees it in search results or Maps.
No. The package is designed to strengthen visibility across several channels, so it can make sense for businesses that need to improve organic local search, Google Business Profile performance, paid local lead generation, brand awareness, or some combination of those areas.
The package isn’t an AI-only service, but stronger local SEO, accurate business information, clear website content, and a well-managed Google Business Profile can all make it easier for search and AI-driven platforms to understand the business. That broader visibility is part of the larger SEO strategy.
The best place to start is with your current visibility. If you’re not showing up consistently in local search, your Google Business Profile is underused, you’re not taking advantage of Local Services Ads, or your business needs more local brand awareness, the package may be a strong fit.
The promotional $1,500 monthly price is tied to SEOctober. Any ongoing service arrangement after that would depend on the terms of the campaign and the services the business continues with.
